HEALING HAND CHARM

The solid copper sculpture is hand shaped in a rustic modern design capturing the free form spirit of the piece. I used a Lentil shaped Cech bead that looks like a tekite as the center of the hand. It gives a feeling of the curved & flat planes of a hand. The structure is wrapped in yards of 24g wired for strength and to convey the way the energy travels on the piece. 

The Big Blue bead is appox 38mm Hand Made Artisan Lampwork Bead. I left a open lip above this bead to add another gem or crystal. The Dangle is a machine facetted Rock Crystal 10mm Bead. The crown is a 10mm Bicone of AB Swarovski Crystal.

The Copper Healing Hand measures 4.5″LX2.5″ W. The Bale is big enough to fit over most clasps or a thong of rawhide:)

BUDDHA KITTY

All winter I feed this yellow cat.

This is a cat with a life style and he has the scares to show it and claws – kitty has claws

.

This cat stays in front of a Paint Contractors office and warehouse.  I met the people there and they are friendly and being as it is winter they do a skeleton crew and are not there often.  Buddha Kitty braved the wet storms and was loyal to his adopted place.  The Winter Rain has turned into slightly warmer Spring Rain and Kitty is not hungry any more.  I continue to get strange downloads of Gemstone Critters.  This is a Sacred Fish.  It’s just a name don’t fret so.

It made me feel Artistic to make the Sacred Fish 🙂  I flew the Hand and the Fish together and I was feeling way artsy.

So Kitty is only here on the weekends now.  Another Critter is Breaking Through.  I am planning my trip to Portland to see my Sister, Bjoy.  We intend to make ORMUS as a trial run before her big trip to the ORMUS Fest.  I am not sure what they will be doing but whatever it is it will be Alchemy and all that Jazzy/Cool-Beyond-Tin Foil-Hat-Stuff.  Until Next time.

MY HEALING HAND

I had made these hands for decades and I had a thought about making one full size.  

So much for keeping it simple.  I was so involved I lost track of time and when it was finished – I was amazed.  I had no idea how meditative the making would be.  

I used a lot of gemstones, Rock Crystal rounds, Chalcedony, Citrine. Coral. Pyrite, Pearls, Amazonite, facetted Crystals, Swarovski crystals to name a few. It became complicated. Then I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it.  

 

This is the back of the structured hand.  It reminded me of the needlepoint I did decades ago.  I loved the way the weaving of the tiny copper wires made the finished piece pleasing on both sides.  The Natural Carnelian was so beautiful in the sunlight.  I love these copper sculptures so much and this hand is working it’s magic spell everyday now.  The project has given birth to many critters – some are recognizable shapes but some seem to be – different.  More like a spirit ornament.  I’ll post them as they emerge.  If you are making something like this would you like to share the pictures here?  I would love to see them!  Here is another shot of the Gemstone Healing Hand.

Buddha Loves Fishing

I have become weary of all my former fascinators.  I have decided to play in a smaller pond where still water is reflecting the inner me.  Sounds cool.   Think I’ll go fishing.  Hone my angler skills see if I can catch my dinner with enough left over for Buddha.  I renamed the stray cat I called Hobo Kitty last year.  Now he has me walking through deep mud puddles in winter with a tasty morsel for Kitty.  He has become my Buddha.   I made a nest for him in the warehouse but he is distrustful of full time confinement.  I entice him with kitty food from Trader Joe’s.  No he will eat stuff but sleeping over is reserved for his other acolytes.  Ah my fine Kitty.  I feel and obey.  I will fish for you please feel free, as if you need my permission.       

I started to direct my thoughts to sculpture and keeping with the Gemstone Theme I made a Gemstone Fascinator.  This tasty Fishy is called the Warrior Fish.  Made with a face of Moss Agate makes him Fierce in the face of Doubt.  His body is of Rainbow Moonstone embellished with multi colored Moonstone and Swarovski Crystals.  I placed two pieces of Mystic Crystal at his brow so it will aid his sight in the night.  Softness crowns him with Aqua Chalcedony.  His Fins are crafted with strength and Golden Shadow Crystals.  He is a cutie.  Have you ever wanted to just say Hi?  Try me on –>FB<-click here and it will whisk you to my Timeline – I appreciate you being here 🙂  This is another view of the Warrior Fish,

 

Warrior Fish

Flies 4″X3″ which includes a hand fashioned solid copper hook.  I made him swivel by hanging from a brass Fishing Thingy.  The Face is a top drilled Moss Agate 22mm the Body is a cluster of 9mm faceted Rainbow Moonstones Ovals, a 10mm heart shaped Rainbow Moonstone and 6&4mm rounds of smooth Moonstones.  There are Swarovski Crystals in shades of yellow Topaz and Golden Shadow.  A fun piece for your Medicine bag or to fly where you might need the ability to see to battle the fears of the night.  Sounds Cool and it is Fascinating to watch 🙂  I haven’t decided if I want to put him on my jewelry site on ETSY or make another spot to sell these FabCool Spirit dolls.  More later –

Why am I in this thing called a tizzy?  What is a Tizzy?  How Can I get Out of This Tizzy?  Seems to be a Vortex of Anxiety here.  This how I combat a tizzy:  I reach into my medicine bag and hold this!

Gratitude is the Gateway

One of the great things about this gemstone is that it is here at all.  How many years does it take to create a fossil?  The fact that someone found this gemstone, cut it, faceted it, put a hole through it, sold it, I bought it, made it into some thing you can wear, and now it is posted on a worldwide device that alerts you to its existence.  WoW – now this bead wants to say

A Fabulous Fossil – Coral – All The Shades of Calm – Great for your Medicine Bag.  The structure of coral looks like a Tootsie Roll.  All Beautifully stacked in neat columns.  This Softly Faceted top drilled Bead is smooth to the skin.

I have been making these for years but decided to make them for my ETSY shop too. This one is copper, bone, a cowry shell, Swarovski Crystals, and a 14mm Hessonite Chalcedony.  They will be decorated or plain and will range from $3 – $30. This one was custom-made and sold for $27 and is 5″ long.
